How to Fill Nail Holes Before Painting Walls

The Easiest Way to Fix Nail Holes Before Painting

No mess.
No problems.
Just a little spackle and you’re good to go.

If you’re getting ready to paint and notice a few nail holes or dings in the wall, don’t panic.
You don’t need a whole repair kit.
You don’t even need a separate putty knife.

There’s a product for that.

Let’s start simple.

One we like is called High Strength Small Hole Repair.

It does exactly what the name says.
It’s great for patching small spots like nail holes, tiny dents, or that picture frame that hung a little too long.

But there’s another option that might be even better.

It’s the same product from 3M, but in a 3-in-1 tool bottle that packs everything into one tube.
Here’s what you get:

  • Spackle
  • A built-in putty knife
  • A sanding pad right on top

Twist the cap. Squeeze out a little. Apply it over the hole.
If the spot is a little bigger, flip it around and use the putty knife.
Then, once it’s dry, use the sander on the lid to smooth it out.

That’s it.
No toolbox needed.
