Interior Painting in St. Louis Park, MN
From Fern Hill bungalows to ramblers near Westwood Hills, St. Louis Park interiors mix original plaster, painted woodwork and later drywall additions. Our nearby Golden Valley crew handles each surface correctly and keeps your home livable while rooms are transformed one at a time.
Interior Painting Benefits for St. Louis Park, MN Homeowners
Old character, fresh finish
- Plaster and Drywall Blended: Many St. Louis Park houses combine original plaster rooms with drywall from later additions or basement finishing. The two surfaces absorb paint differently, so a single coat can look blotchy where they meet. We patch transitions, prime appropriately for each material and apply finish coats that make the whole floor look consistent from room to room.
- Woodwork Brought Back: Window casings, doors and baseboards in older homes often carry many layers of paint, with drips, sags and doors that stick. We scrape and sand where needed, ease doors that rub, and lay down a fresh enamel coat. Pre-1978 woodwork is handled using lead-safe practices to keep dust contained inside the work area of your home.
- Small Rooms Made Brighter: Compact bedrooms, breakfast nooks and upstairs dormers are common in story-and-a-half houses. Light reflective colors, a matching ceiling tint and a slightly glossier trim can make those spaces feel larger. We bring samples and talk through how each choice will look in rooms with small windows and sloped ceilings before anything is painted.
Why St. Louis Park Homes Need Thoughtful Interior Painting
Inner-ring houses with layered history
- Bungalows and Tudors Inside: Houses along Minnehaha Creek and off Excelsior Boulevard often have arched openings, coved ceilings, plate rails and built-in buffets. These details look best with careful cutting and the right sheen, often satin on walls and semi-gloss on woodwork. We take the time to brush detailed areas instead of rushing them with a roller.
- Post-War Rambler Updates: Ramblers in the western part of St. Louis Park often have compact bathrooms with limited ventilation, linen closets in the hallway and bedrooms that see heavy daily use. We recommend moisture-resistant finishes in baths, cleanable satin in hallways and a cohesive palette that ties rooms together across a one-level layout.
- Close to Our Base: Our Lilac Drive office in Golden Valley borders St. Louis Park, so color consultations and walk-throughs are easy to fit into your schedule. If a small spot needs attention after the project, our 3-year We'll Make It Right warranty covers it, and our team can stop by without making you wait around for weeks.
