Brick painting across Central Iowa is a moisture-management and freeze-thaw job. Fired brick and painted-brick accents show up on Beaverdale bungalows, Sherman Hill Victorians, mid-century chimneys across Urbandale, and full brick-veneer facades across Ankeny and Waukee. Each substrate behaves differently under Midwestern freeze-thaw, and the film that works on a shaded chimney will fail on a north wall by spring if the joints are not right. Our starting point is a full pressure wash to strip chalk, mildew, and salt spray, then a look at the mortar joints before we open a can.
Older Des Moines brick usually needs joint repair and spot re-pointing before coating, because a coat of paint over a failed joint traps moisture rather than sealing it, and one freeze-thaw cycle will pop the film. Newer painted-brick accents on Ankeny and Waukee builds are typically sound and only need cleaning plus a bonding primer. On chimneys we favor a breathable masonry system so vapor can still escape rather than push the film off the wall from behind, and our field notes on whether you can paint a brick house walk through the trade-offs before you commit.
Color trends on painted brick across Ankeny and Waukee lean into warm whites, sandy greiges, and deep charcoals. On homes where the client wants texture kept rather than blocked out, limewash is often the better call and we walk through both options at the estimate. Every brick project is backed by our 3-year transferable warranty.

Your peace of mind, at the top of mind with our three-year transferable warranty. Covers the painting job, even if you sell the house.
