Pressure Washing in the Lehigh Valley

Pressure washing is one of the busiest scopes we run across the Lehigh Valley every spring. Winter road-salt spray, spring pollen, and humid-summer mildew coat driveways, sidewalks, and elevations through most of the year, and by late summer mildew on shaded north walls in Bethlehem, downtown Easton, and West End Allentown is heavy enough that any repaint bonded on top would fail early. Crews adjust pressure and tip size to the substrate so painted brick, stone, cedar shingle, painted wood, stucco, and concrete each get the right approach.

Older Allentown rowhomes, Bethlehem historic stone, and Easton Federal-era brick tend to have chalky paint and softer joints that will not tolerate maximum pressure, while newer Center Valley and Coopersburg builds can take a more aggressive wash. Cedar shingle facades take a soft-wash chemical approach rather than mechanical pressure to preserve the shingle face. Concrete, pavers, and stamped hardscape each get a different pressure and detergent approach at the estimate.

Most standalone pressure-washing requests here are pre-listing cleanups or pre-paint prep. When the goal is a full exterior repaint, the wash is scoped as the first day of the project so paint bonds to a clean substrate. Our writeup on long-lasting exterior paint treats pressure washing as step one for a reason.

Pressure Washing FAQs in Lehigh Valley

Yes. Shaded north-facing walls in Bethlehem and Emmaus are prone to algae and mildew. We use the right cleaning solution and pressure to clear it without harming siding.

Nearly always. Washing siding and trim on Allentown and Easton homes removes the dirt and chalk that keep paint from sticking, so the new coat bonds and lasts.

Most Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton siding is washed at 500-1200 psi with a wide fan tip, not the 3000+ psi that strips paint and drives water behind lap seams. Our crews use surfactants and soft-wash chemistry to lift mildew, pollen, and algae. Coverage is quoted at the free in-home estimate.

Yes; shaded north-facing walls in Bethlehem, Emmaus, and Whitehall are prone to algae and mildew, and we treat them with a soft-wash chemistry before rinsing so siding isn't damaged. Repeat treatments are scheduled if canopy shade returns growth quickly. The full plan is walked at the free in-home estimate.

Yes; every exterior scope in Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton includes a full pressure wash to strip mildew, chalking, and pollen so paint bonds cleanly.
