That 1 Painter Edina works out of our office at 5200 Willson Road, Suite 150, which puts our crews a few minutes from most of the city. We paint interiors, exteriors and kitchen cabinets for Edina homeowners. Every job starts with a free estimate and carries our 3-year transferable warranty. We're locally owned and operated by Mike Kelley, licensed and insured, and EPA Lead-Safe Certified (NAT-F287773-1). That certification matters in a city where so many homes were built well before 1978.
Painting Edina's Neighborhoods
Edina isn't one kind of house. A 1920s Tudor near Minnehaha Creek needs different prep than a mid-century rambler near Highway 62, so we plan each job around the home's age, materials and setting.
Country Club District
The Country Club District was planned in 1922 and mostly built between 1924 and 1944. It's listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is also an Edina Heritage Preservation District, so changes to street-facing exteriors may need city review. Before we quote an exterior here, we suggest checking with the City of Edina's heritage preservation staff. We're glad to work around whatever they require. Many of these homes have original stucco, cedar and old-growth trim. On pre-1978 homes we use lead-safe prep, then patch, spot-prime and repaint each material correctly. Indoors, plaster walls and original woodwork get careful repair and primer before the finish coats go on.
Morningside
Morningside sits on Edina's northeast edge near 44th & France. It's a walkable mix of classic bungalows, story-and-a-half homes, 1950s ramblers and newer infill. Older homes here often need plaster and drywall repair before paint. Lots are tight and neighbors are close, so we protect landscaping and keep the driveway clear. In the ramblers we often refinish original kitchen cabinets instead of replacing them.
We also paint homes in Indian Hills, Edina's wooded, rolling neighborhood around Arrowhead and Indianhead Lakes, and in the Highlands, north of Highway 62 near Highlands Park. We serve Cornelia, Parkwood Knolls and the blocks around 50th & France and Southdale as well.

Winter in Edina: Interiors Now, Exteriors in Spring
Once Minnesota temperatures drop, exterior paint can't cure properly, so most exterior work waits for spring. Winter is a good time for the indoor projects people keep putting off, like repainting a main floor, refreshing bedrooms or updating dated cabinets. Spring exterior slots fill early, so if your siding or trim needs work, ask for your estimate now and we'll talk through timing.
What Twin Cities Homeowners Say About That 1 Painter
We had a great experience with That 1 Painter Twin Cities for our deck staining. Nolan was very helpful and informative during the quote/estimation and they were able to schedule the project immediately. Everything was done in less than a week! The crew, led by Eswin, was incredibly efficient and did an awesome job. Eswin was knowledgable, respectful, and went above and beyond to clean and improve a few chips on our floor boards. Our deck looks amazing and we are thrilled with the results. …
Couldn't be happier. Christiana did a great job going over our project to bid and helping to pickout colors and sheen for the job and Marc the project manager did a great job going over the project with the painters and final walk through with us after completion. I highly recommend.
Super thorough, three coats in one day, efficient and polite. Terrific!

Do you paint homes in Edina's Country Club District?
Yes. The district is an Edina Heritage Preservation District, so changes to the street-facing exterior may need city review. Check with the City of Edina before exterior work. Interior painting isn't affected. On pre-1978 homes, we use EPA lead-safe practices for any sanding or scraping.
Can I get interior or cabinet painting done in Edina during the winter?
Yes. Interior and cabinet work doesn't depend on outdoor temperatures, so winter is a good time to schedule it. We protect floors and furniture and clean up every day.
