It depends on a few factors:
The state of the cabinet doors and drawers (if need to be replaced or repaired)
How many doors and drawers are being painted
What quality of paint do you want to use
Are you also installing hardware

In addition to these factors, how much area of the kitchen needs to be covered? 

Most average kitchen cabinet jobs take anywhere from 3-4 days. A larger kitchen cabinet job can take a week or longer. It depends on how many doors and drawers are to be painted. 

If the cabinets need to be cleaned or degreased, or if they have an extra repair needed - it will take a couple of days longer. We highly suggest getting a professional to come and assess your cabinets to provide an accurate timeline.

You can either use oil-based paint or acrylic-based paint (water) to paint your kitchen cabinets. Oil-based should be used for cabinets that have been previously painted with oil, and water should be used for any cabinets painted with water. We highly recommend Sherwin Williams Urethane Trim Acrylic Enamel to paint your cabinets. It provides a durable finish like oil but also will not patina quickly over time as oil-based does. 

The most durable paint will be oil-based paint, because of how thick oil-based paint is. However, paint manufacturers are releasing water-based paint that provides durability as oil-based paint does. 

We suggest Corotech Command by Benjamin Moore if you want a durable finish for your cabinets. Sherwin Williams Urethane Trim Enamel is a great option as well. 

We start by cleaning and degreasing your cabinets. This ensures that we don't paint over areas that might cause the paint to peel over time. We then sand the cabinets down, prime, then sand them again. We will then prime one more coat, and then apply 2 coats of the finish coat. 

The kitchen area will be prepped and covered so that your furniture and floors will not get any paint on them.
